More info on our upcoming workshop Saturday morning:
The session will be a very informal, loose and playful approach to how we engage with primary research through a varied use of drawing gestures and media.
There are no specific requirements to the tasks (apart from one set, written below), but you will benefit from having as wide an array of materials as you can.
Essential items:
Old magazines/newspapers
An old cloth or piece of fabric
Paint/ink
As a bit of fun, I would like to try something with you. This will require a box (any size- it could be an old cereal box/show box/packaging box- literally anything!) and some small objects that can move (marbles/ twigs/ beads/ laundry balls/ balls created from scrunched tin foil / pasta- anything!). Do not panic if you cannot source these items though, you can patiently await the results or do another task.
Suggested other media to bring:
Pens (felt tips/fine liners/markers/biros)
Paints
Tape (masking/sello/paper)
Inks
Charcoal
Pencils
Crayons
Twigs
Craft knife
Needle / thread
String
Scissors
Glue
Brushes
It would also be beneficial to have a range of surfaces to draw on. You may wish to bring a selection of the following:
Paper of different weights and textures
Lined/patterned/coloured paper
Fabric
Plastics
Old paper bags/packaging etc.
Cardboard
There will be one task where I will ask you to tear and scrunch paper, so I suggest you have some scrap or loose sheets to hand- you could also use foil or tissue paper too.
The session will last 2 hours and will have opportunity for comfort breaks throughout.
See you at 10am UK Time, 11am CET
Unfortunately I can't attend but it sounds like fun. Will the workshop be recorded?
