About the Event
We’ll be visiting the exhibition Ai Weiwei: Making Sense. The exhibition focuses on design (rather than fine art) and includes large-scale works installed around the Design Museum to encourage visitors to engage directly in the spaces occupied by them. It’s a great opportunity to consider ideas of spatial occupation that concern interior designers - but from an alternative ‘fine art’ perspective.
Once we’ve explored all that the Design Museum has to offer, time allowing - and if students have the energy for more - we will then squeeze in a quick visit to the V&A Architecture and Furniture collections.
To start off we’ll be meeting outside the front entrance of the Design Museum, a five or ten minute walk from High Street Kensington tube station.
Sunday May 21st, 10.30am - 3pm or 5.45pm approx. Entry to the exhibition at 11am. All students across disciplines are welcome.
