About the Event
Focus workshops on specific demographics of young people.
When delivering workshops for young people, there are times when you may focus on a particular demographic and promote access. Examples of this could include working with a group in a mental health setting, working in a LGBTQ+ setting, or working with young people from a particular background.
Using the example of Rab (the facilitator) writing workshops for young carers as jumping off point, the session will explore:
- The individual differences between young people in a demographic, and differentiating resources to be accessible to a range of young people with different needs.
- Considering choices of arts and texts to use.
- How to let different young people enjoy the session in different way.
By the end of the session you will have planned your own workshop with young people’s needs in mind, which is a great skill to later put into practice or talk about when applying for creative jobs.
Everyone is Welcome!
